Designing and Construction
DESIGNING
Our architect bureau is engaged in four major architectural spheres:
- Traditional Norwegian half-timber log-houses,
- MODERN North European architecture, Finnish houses,
- Alpine CHALET houses,
- HI-TECH wooden houses,
All our projects are 3D models that allow you to envision each premise of the house and its interior, and provide 360-degree views at projecting stage
At projecting stage of the house we pay particular attention to an efficiently planned land lot including all necessary objects and constructions.
Each house is custom-made, our designers fulfill the requirements of the owners, taking into consideration their individual wishes for layout, interior and external appearance of a house and a lot.
We have been designing log-houses with square from 400 to 940 sq. m., thus we have expanded in a big way our designing and building solutions for MODERN HAND WOODEN HOUSES.
Throughout all projects we have essentially developed design for wall and roofing joints of our log-houses, began regularly using large PINE and CEDAR timber (8 to 12 meters long) in our projects.
CONSTRUCTION
Our factory is equipped with all necessary lifting mechanisms for profound work with selected LARGE TIMBER.
The average weight of a round log that is used to make PINE half-timber is 210-250 kg.
The average weight of a round log that is used to make CEDAR half-timber is 280-400 kg.
The larch is half as heavy as pine and cedar, its wood is more dense and resinous. It is commonly supposed to assume that houses built with LARCH are not so warm, but more long-lasting.
However it should be noted that Old Believers’ log-houses in Siberia and Altai were made of CEDAR, many of which were built more than 200 years ago. And nowadays houses preserve their original appearance quite well.
The joist floor height according to the contracts of PINE and LARCH log-houses is the following:
As for LARCH and PINE log-house contracts, the joist floor height is up to 380 mm;
The joist floor height according to the contracts of CEDAR log-houses is 350 up to 650 mm;
HALF-TIMBER LOG-HOUSE with different joist floor heights looks as a rare and exceptional house, worthy to be appreciated to its true value.
The wall thickness specified in the contract is strictly observed for all external and internal walls. The Norwegian STANDARD FOR HOUSES of CONSTANT RESIDENCY is 220 mm for PINE LOG-HOUSES. For mountain LARCH HALF-TIMBER the minimum wall thickness is 240 mm as this impressive wood is more dense and resinous, but at the same time it retains heat worse.
CEDAR houses may have walls up to 280 mm. Such massive half-timber is used under condition that the house area is more than 400 sq.m. For sake of aesthetics exterior it makes sense to sacrifice some internal space of habitable and subsidiary rooms.
After manufacturing at the factory EVERY LOG-HOUSE is disassembled, packed and transported to the Customer site, packed with all necessary house assembly tools.
Decorative details of internal and external work for balconies, terraces, platbands are chosen according to owner’s prefences.
Возможность выбора ЛЮБОГО СОРТА СЕВЕРНОЙ ХВОЙНОЙ ДРЕВЕСИНЫ для отделки существенно обогащает интерьер каждого дома.
One can use ANY KIND of NORTHERN CONIFEROUS WOOD for finishing the house, which essentially enriches each house interior.
Of course appropriate set of colors is of great importance here.
NORWEGIAN HALF-TIMBER HAND FELLING
Unlike calibrated log or glued wood board one should pay an extra attention to quality of round wood when felling half-timber. Only the best large-size wood can be used to build half-timber houses.
White Canadian cedar CONSIDERABLY YELDS to mountain Siberian cedar according to all key characteristics: trunk size, wood density, healing properties.
Due to growing peculiarities, mountain forest has more distinctive rose-red color and smell. There is no doubt that cedar possesses authentic “wood doctor” property.
